GPCC Welcomes PA Labor & Industry Secretary Kathy Manderino for Roundtable Discussion

The Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce recently hosted Kathy Manderino Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, for a roundtable discussion on ways to advance workforce development initiatives in the Pittsburgh region and across the state. The GPPC looks forward to continuing to work with Secretary Manderino to improve our workforce competitiveness.

2016-17 State Budget Finalized

As you’ve likely heard by now, the state legislature put the 2016-17 budget to rest last week by passing the corresponding revenue package that was needed in conjunction with the general appropriations bill that went into law last Monday. The new state budget spends $31.5 billion. After moving it through a conference committee, the $1.3 billion revenue package was approved in the House by a vote of 116-75 and in the Senate by a vote of 28-22.
